Tulsa, Oklahoma - Victims of the 1921 Tulsa race riot, one of the worst mob attacks in US history, should receive reparations for the losses they suffered, a state commission recommended yesterday. A subcommittee of the commission earlier suggested that up to $33 million should be paid, but that figure was not included in the final report. As many as 300 people, most of them blacks, are believed to have died in the violence. More than 1,000 homes were destroyed, 35 grocery stores, eight doctors' offices and five hotels.
