Rescuers have gone to the aid of six people aboard an Irish fishing boat that is taking in water off the Cork coast.
A Coastguard spokesman said the Resplendentissued a mayday alert earlier this morning when it got into trouble around 60 miles off the coast.
The Ballycotton lifeboat has succeeded in landing a pump onto the boat.
A Coastguard helicopter from Waterford and two Navy vessels, the LE Aishlingand LE Orla, are also taking part in the operation.

"The situation is now under control", the spokesman said, adding that the rescue was ongoing.
