The company behind retail chain Sasha has gone into liquidation with the loss of 300 jobs.

The decision to liquidate the chain, which has been in business for 27 years and has 42 stores across the State, was taken after the unlimited company behind the chain, Denholme, failed to attract new investment.

The company has been facing increasingly difficult trading conditions in recent months, and Denholme went into examinership late last year.

Staff representatives were informed this afternoon of the development.

Deloitte's David Carson has been appointed liquidator to Denholme.
