Atmosphere: Funky like a New York City block party on a hot summer's day with Annie Tierney and her monster band rocking the house with tunes from their just-released Popical Island album.

High: Tierney's thrillers are infectious little things, wobbly funk tunes which come with punky edges, lovely guitar frills (respect to Yeh Deadlies' man Padraig O'Reilly) and big ol' choruses. Guest spot too from Tierney's brother Michael AKA Mick Pyro from Republic of Loose. Maximum respect too to bassist Ian McFarlane for those short shorts, one of the fashion, er, incidents of the weekend.

Low: A pity there wasn¹t more people here to get on down to them.

Quote: "What's the crack?" (Annie Tierney)

Verdict: A lovely set from one of the best Irish acts doing the pop thing at the moment. We'll see them again for sure.
