US/UN: A purported statement by al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden offered rewards in gold for killing US Iraq administrator Paul Bremer or UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, an Islamist Web site said yesterday.
The statement posted on the website said the 10 kg gold reward would also be given to anyone killing other officials including Mr Bremer's deputy or UN envoy to Iraq Lakhdar Brahimi.
