Santiago - A Chilean right-wing group is planning attacks against Spanish and British targets in Chile in protest at a London court's extradition ruling on Gen Augusto Pinochet, a newspaper reported yesterday.

The Fatherland and Freedom group, angered at a decision last week to allow the extradition to Spain of the former Chilean dictator, will mark the first anniversary of Gen Pinochet's arrest in London next Saturday, with demonstrations outside the British and Spanish embassies and attacks on related targets, La Tercera de Santiago newspaper said.

Police said the group claimed responsibility for a firebomb attack on Friday at a branch of the Spanish bank Banco Santander in Coquimbo, northern Chile.
