A man who allegedly bit a security guard during a robbery at a supermarket was granted hail when he appeared before the Dublin District Court yesterday. Mr Carl McCormack (25), of Wellmount Avenue, Finglas, Dublin, is charged with robbery at the Spa store, Tonlegee Road, Coolock, where some money is said to have been taken.

Garda John Daly said the Garda was were objecting to bail because staff were in fear of the accused. Judge Desmond Hogan accepted a defence application for bail and remanded Mr McCormack on his own bond of £100 with an independent surety of £300 to appear again on March 20th.
