Anti-racism demonstrators will today picket the Dublin offices of Ryanair, which they accuse of giving credibility to the far-right Austrian politician, Dr Jörg Haider.

Today's picket is timed to coincide with a promotion in London of a new Ryanair route to Klagenfurt, capital of the Carinthian province of which the controversial politician is governor.

The London event has been organised by the Austrian Tourist Board. The Anti-Nazi League in London has dubbed the airline "Aryanair" for allowing its name to be associated with the former leader of the xenophobic Freedom Party who has in the past praised Hitler's employment policies. It will protest at the London event.

The Dublin picket is also organised by the Anti-Nazi League. It be addressed by Senator David Norris and SIPTU president Mr Des Geraghty.
