Tennis:Marat Safin stormed into the second round of the French Open after a ruthless 6-1 6-3 6-1 destruction of Fernando Vicente.
The Russian exploded out of the blocks as he took his Spanish opponent apart and it wasn't long before he wrapped up the first set 6-1.
It was a little harder for Safin in the second as he allowed Vicente to take three games in another one-sided set and from then on the result was never in doubt.
Big-serving Safin, seeded 22, smashed down eight aces in the match and despite making an alarming 30 unforced errors compared to Vicente's 20, displayed the killer instinct needed to win through.
