Southampton boss Gordon Strachan has been rocked by an injury crisis on the eve of his team's UEFA Cup first round, second leg clash against Steaua Bucharest in Romania tomorrow.

Strachan is without Graeme Le Saux, Neil McCann, Matt Oakley and Marian Pahars. Chris Marsden is also a major doubt. His side drew 1-1 at home in the first leg.

Liverpool will be without Michael Owen as they look to overcome Olimpija Ljubljana at Anfield. The first leg ended 1-1.

Manager Gerard Houllier is also without Danny Murphy, Bruno Cheyrou, Jamie Carragher and Milan Baros, while Dietmar Hamann has targeted mid-November for his return from injury.

Stephane Henchoz, who made a late substitute appearance for Switzerland against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, should also be fit to return.

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness is without Lucas Neill and Barry Ferguson for their game against Turkish side Genclerbirligi at Ewood Park. Rovers trail 3-1 after the first leg.

Neill has lost half a stone battling against pneumonia, while Ferguson is cup tied after playing for Rangers in a Champions League qualifier earlier this season. The duo join long-term injury victims Craig Short and Markus Babbel on the sidelines.

Newcastle, comfortable 5-0 winners in the first leg, will be without striker Craig Bellamy (knee) for their clash with Dutch side NAC Breda.

Midfielder Lee Bowyer is again suspended but Laurent Robert returns from a one-match ban and is included in the squad.

Lomana LuaLua and Darren Ambrose are both among the party despite picking up knocks in last night's reserve team victory over Leeds.

Steve McManaman is expected to return from a hamstring injury for Manchester City's game against Belgian outfit Lokeren.

City go into the match holding a narrow 3-2 lead from the first leg in Manchester.

Republic of Ireland defender Richard Dunne (ankle) and Danny Tiatto (dead leg) could also come into contention after missing the first leg.
