Mexico City - Mexico's disgraced former president, Mr Carlos Salinas, sent a letter to the nation on Monday denouncing the 50-year murder sentence handed down to his brother in January but insisting he was not courting revenge.
In the four-page document dated from Mexico City and released to media by his lawyers, Mr Salinas said his brother's jail sentence was politically motivated and based on bribery and witchcraft, not proof.
It could not immediately be confirmed whether Mr Salinas was in Mexico.
