Los Angeles - The veteran rock guitarist Carlos Santana has made a clean sweep of the top Grammy categories, and his personal haul of eight trophies tied with Michael Jackson's 1983 record.

The 52-year-old Mexican, riding high with one of the biggest comebacks in rock 'n' roll history, won the ceremony's final award, the album of the year Grammy for his hit release Supernatural. It won 11 Grammy nominations, the most of any album this year.
