Ten things the new company could do to dissipate the unfavourable impression it has created and to restore harmony between citizens and the port authority:
1. Guarantee that the facilities around the Coal Harbour will remain.
2. No extra charges for small boat owners without consent.
3. Restore the facility to enable members of the public to hire a rowing boat.
4. Restore regular cruises around Dublin and Killiney bays.
5. Notices should go up at spots connected with the historic events.
6. Some of the port's great yachting events in the past, such as Marconi's first broadcast of a sporting event, should be recalled.
7. A list of Harbour Masters should be displayed, with the major events of their term of office.
8. Summer walking tours should emphasise the harbour's beauty as well as historic spots.
9. Trade-union leaders should be approached to discuss the idea of Dun Laoghaire becoming a centre of trade-union sailing and boating clubs.
10. An annual public Suggestion Day should be instituted.
