Gardaí in Dublin are continuing their search for man who was assaulted and kidnapped in the north inner city on Thursday.
Gardaí said they are “very concerned” for his safety.
The 26-year-old was chased by a group of men on Russell Avenue, East Wall, at about 4.45pm before being beaten and bundled into a black Volkswagen Golf, which was driven away at speed.
Witnesses said the car had a rear spoiler, spoked wheels and tinted windows. It was in the “boy racer” style, a Garda spokesman said.
Gardaí have since established that the registration is 05-D-88805.
They have warned members of the public not to approach the car and its occupants.
Anyone who may have seen the occupants of such a car acting suspiciously on or near Russell Avenue at that time, or who may have seen the car later, has been asked to contact Store Street gardaí at 01-6668089, or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666111.
