A CO DUBLIN security worker has admitted to being involved in organised crime by providing information to a gang which intended to steal €2 million from a cash transit van in Co Kildare last year.

Darryl Caffrey (33), Cherry Park, Rivervalley, Swords, pleaded guilty yesterday to enhancing the ability of a criminal organisation to commit or facilitate a theft of cash from a vehicle at Tesco, Shackleton Road, Celbridge, on November 2nd, 2007, by providing information on the business of Chubb Ireland Ltd.

Judge Katherine Delahunt remanded Caffrey in custody pending sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court next December.
