LONDON - Seven people were killed in an attack in the town of Romonge in south west Burundi, Radio Burundi, monitored by the BBC, reported late last night.
The attackers, armed with guns and machetes, wounded 20 other people and set fire to a large number of houses. Victims included members of both the Hutu and Tutsi tribes. Survivors said some of the attackers were wearing military uniforms, the radio added.
