SF wants soccer game cancelled

Sinn Fein has called on the west Belfast soccer team, Donegal Celtic, to cancel a game against the RUC

Sinn Fein has called on the west Belfast soccer team, Donegal Celtic, to cancel a game against the RUC. The two sides are drawn to play against each other at Castlereagh Park, Belfast, on November 14th.

Ms Bairbre de Brun, a Sinn Fein West Belfast Assembly member, said for Donegal Celtic to play the game would be "highly insensitive and alarming".

"If the Donegal Celtic club proceeds it would be viewed as an insult to the local community and to those families across the Six Counties whose loved ones have been tortured, killed and maimed by the RUC."
