Attock - The deposed Pakistani Prime Minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif, yesterday said the Pakistani army did not consult him about last year's Kargil confrontation which brought India and Pakistan to the brink of war.

Mr Sharif, who is standing trial on corruption charges, laid the blame for the operation on Gen Pervez Musharraf, who deposed him in an October coup. Pakistan had blamed Mujahideen Muslim militants.
