Shelbourne have stretched their lead at the top of the Eircom League Premier Division by four points with a 2-0 victory over Longford Town at Flancare Park.
A goal from David Rogers on 42 minutes, followed by a second half strike from Ollie Cahill on 61 minutes were enough to secure victory for the Dublin side, who now top the league on 23 points, four ahead of Shamrock Rovers.
In the other Premier Division game tonight, Drogheda emerged victorious over Derry City by 1-0 at O2 Park, the crucial strike coming from Danny O'Connor on the cusp of halftime.
Meanwhile, there were five games in the First Division: Cobh Ramblers beat Athlone Town 2-0, while Limerick emerged victors over Sligo Rovers by 4-0.
In the other games, Monaghan United drew 0-0 with Bray Wanderers, Finn Harps defeated Dundalk by 3-1, while Kildare defeated Galway United by 1-0.
