Gardaí in Limerick are investigating an incident in which an employee at a mobile phone shop was found tied up after being attacked by intruders.

The 41-year-old part time employee of the Vodafone shop on O’Connell Street was found by another worker who arrived at the store at 9am.

The victim, who suffered a slight injury to his face, told gardaí that two men were waiting downstairs in the shop when he arrived into work at around 8.30am. The men used plastic cable ties to tie up his hands.

They left without taking anything and there was no sign of a break in at the shop, according to gardaí.
