Up to seven shots were fired into a car parked outside a house in Finglas, north Dublin last night.

Up to seven shots were fired into a car parked outside a house in Finglas, north Dublin last night.

The car, which was parked in the driveway of the house  at Barry Drive, was hit by a number of shots at around 8.30pm.

A woman in her late thirties who was in the house at the time escaped unhurt. 

Gardaí believe the gunman fled on foot.

No arrests were made.

The shooting was the latest in a series of gun attacks in the area over recent days.

A man (51) was left seriously injured when he was shot several times in a house in Casement Park on Monday evening. His 24-year-old son was wounded in a shooting inside the Cappagh House pub on Barry Road early on Sunday morning.

The younger man has been shot twice in the past two months by criminals with whom he has become embroiled in a bitter personal dispute.

Gardaí believe the father and son were shot by the same gang.
