THE Siamese twin girls, born by Caesarean section in Cork on Sunday, were in a critical but stable condition in Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin. Their parents have requested their identity remain secret.
The babies are joined from the chest to the abdomen and were born in the Erinville Hospital.
There are no immediate plans to separate the babies who need assistance with their "breathing. "They are lovely baby girls and naturally their parents are upset with their condition. It's too early yet to say what the outlook is and when, or if they will be separated," said a spokesperson for the hospital.
