Six held after two Dublin cocaine seizures

Two women have been arrested following a seizure of cocaine valued at over €1.1 million at Dublin airport.

Two women have been arrested following a seizure of cocaine valued at over €1.1 million at Dublin airport.

The women were arrested in Ballymun in a follow-up operation and are being held at Santry and Ballymun Garda stations. They had arrived earlier on a flight from Cancun, Mexico.

One of the women is in her 20s, the other is in her 30s.

The 15 kilograms of cocaine was found by Customs officers in luggage at the baggage handling area.

Earlier, four people were arrested when officers from the Garda North Central Drugs Unit raided a flat in Phibsboro they suspected was being used by a west African gang dealing in crack cocaine.

An estimated €120,000 worth of cocaine and items for processing the drug into crack were seized. The gang are understood to have been selling the drug in the north inner city.
