A soccer player who broke his wrist when he fell on a pathway has lost a claim for damages against Dublin Corporation, which had provided the pitch for his club.

Judge Liam Devally, dismissing the £30,000 claim by Patrick Pluck, Oliver Bond House, Dublin, said the layout of the pitch had been marked by the plaintiff's club, Thomasville, and he could not hold the corporation negligent for the proximity of the touchline to the pathway.
