A soldier who admits being overweight cannot be discharged for another two weeks following a High Court ruling yesterday.

Pte Vincent Crawford (38), from Gallows Lane, Lifford, Co Donegal, last week secured a temporary High Court order preventing his discharge last Friday.

In court yesterday his case was adjourned for two weeks by agreement, with the injunction preventing his discharge to continue.

Last week's hearing was told that he was informed last September that he would be discharged on January 30th, 1998, because he was below the required medical standard.
