It is not very often a new magazine begins with not one, not two but three front-page apologies. But the first issue of Leaven, the magazine of the married priests' group of the same name, has done just that. The first apology is to the writer Peter de Rosa for poor proof-reading of articles he had written for the group; the second is for getting someone's name wrong in the last issue (is this a mistake?); and the third is to someone who is uncontactable through email. There should be some sort of prize for Ireland's most humble and apologetic publication, and the Leaven should definitely be its first recipient.
