Spanish police said today they had arrested 21 people accused of illegal arms dealing and defending genocide in a crackdown on the Spanish branch of international neo-Nazi group "Blood & Honour".
The suspects, arrested in raids across central and southern Spain, organised concerts on Adolf Hitler's birthday earlier this month and on other dates with importance for admirers of the Nazi dictator and used them as platforms to incite racial hatred, police said.
"They would incite to xenophobia, racism, anti-Semitism and extreme violence to attract new followers," a police statement said, adding the suspects came from all over Spain.
Police said they seized guns, knives, knuckle-dusters and cans of tear gas from the suspects' homes and from a meeting place, as well as literature and music extolling Nazi ideology.
