Spain’s Interior Ministry says a suspected bomb has exploded at the printing facilities of a Basque newspaper near the northern port city of Bilbao.

What appears to have been an explosive device detonated at the presses of El Correo, a regional ministry spokesman said.

Although people were working at the time of the explosion, around 1am (Irish time), no injuries are reported despite damage to the printing facility building.

No warning was received and the area has been cordoned off by Basque regional police.
