Government “procrastination” over the roll out of privatised speed cameras is costing lives on the State’s roads, according to the Irish Insurance Federation.

In a statement yesterday, the body, which represents the major Irish insurers, said the delay in the deployment of speed cameras “is contributing to the number of collisions resulting in fatalities and serious injuries”.
