THE eagle-eyed general secretary of Fianna Fail, Pat Farrell, was among the first to notice it and it set him and others wondering if Dick Spring is so anxious to maintain Labour seats that he thinks he and his deputy leader Ruairi Quinn can both get elected in Dublin South East. Or is he hoping to oust Ruairi? The "vote No 1 Spring, Dick", poster appeared nearly two weeks ago outside the party headquarters in Ely Place. There is no mention of a running mate. A spokesman said they were merely testing their new poster material corrieboard. And there is no threat to Ruairi.
