Four members of the Stardust families are refusing to leave Government Buildings until they meet with a Department of the Taoiseach official.

They want to know when they will get to see a copy of the report on the State's examination of a case for a reopened inquiry into the Stardust fire disaster.

They have been waiting since around 11.30am in the security hut at Merrion Street.

The report by Paul Coffey SC was given to the Government on December 16th and referred to the Attorney General. It is now with the Department of Justice and a department spokesman said the Government
was "considering it" but was unable to say when it would be given to the families.

A Department of Taoiseach spokesman said a channel of communications had been agreed through the legal team for the families.

The 1981 Stardust nightclub inferno in north Dublin caused the deathsof 48 young people.

Stardust Victims Committee spokeswoman Antoinette Keegan said while officials were refusing to come down, she was refusing to leave until she was told when she would receive the report.

Gertrude Barrett, who lost her son Michael in the blaze, said it was appalling to be dismissed. She wants the report before the 28th anniversary of the fire on February 14th.
