Ms Sinead McDermott was detained in her home in the Co Tyrone town late on Wednesday night as police investigating serious crimes in the north-west searched a number of houses in Strabane, Derry and Ballymoney.

Ms McDermott, a Ryanair cabin crew member, was charged with the possession of a 500v stun gun at her home, contrary to Article 6 of the Fire Arms (NI) Order, 1981.

A detective constable told the court that he believed he could connect the defendant to the charge.

The magistrate told the defendant that, because the charge was a scheduled offence, she would be remanded in custody pending a High Court bail application.

She was remanded in custody to appear before the same court on July 1st.
