Still no show like a Joe show

JOE DOLAN fans head in their droves to Killarney this weekend to prove beyond doubt that there is no show like a Joe show.

JOE DOLAN fans head in their droves to Killarney this weekend to prove beyond doubt that there is no show like a Joe show.

Some seven months after he moved to the great stage in the sky, the Mullingar man will be featured in a virtual concert at the INEC in Killarney. The loyal fans who want more and more will be treated to a live show from Dolan's band, accompanied by a video projection of the singer.

The show's run, which started last night, is presented by the Dolan family and James Cafferty, and will continue until Sunday. It features Ronan Collins as MC, and comedian Syl Fox.

As befits a singer who was popular in many countries, 7,000 fans are expected to pour into the Co Kerry town, where hotels are virtually booked out. Travellers are confirmed from the US, Australia, France, Russia, Sweden and the UK, and every county in Ireland.

The festival features a remembrance Mass for the singer at noon today at St Mary's cathedral. Chief celebrant will be Dolan's long-time friend Fr Brian D'arcy. The event will also be a celebration with a difference, with songs and music being provided by Joe's family members.

Joe Dolan died on St Stephen's Day last year after a short illness.
