Transfers round-up:Anthony Stokes has completed his move from Hibernian to Celtic after the Republic of Ireland international underwent a medical and agreed personal terms with the Glasgow club today.

Stokes, who was omitted from Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers with Armenia and Andorra, will join in a deal believed to be worth €1.5 million.

Shay Givenand Robbie Keane, who have been linked with moves away from Manchester City and Tottenham, look set to stay with the transfer window having closed at 6pm in England. Scottish clubs have until midnight to complete deals

Ireland teammates Liam Lawrenceand Marc Wilsonare swapped clubs as Stoke signed the Portsmouth defender.The deal for the 23-year-old involves a player-plus-cash deal, seeing midfielder Lawrence and striker Dave Kitsonmoving in the opposite direction. Stoke have already agreed a loan deal with Monaco for Eidur Gudjohnsenand re-signed Senegal international Salif Diaoon a permanent two-year deal.

In general, Premier League clubs’ spending on players this season is heading for a four-year low after a slow start to transfer deadline day. Unless any big surprise deals are done, spending on transfers is expected to total around €350 million this summer — down 25 per cent on last year and the lowest sum since 2006.
