Strings attached to Michael comeback

Singer George Michael will perform at the O2 in the company of a full orchestra in November.

Michael quit touring three years ago, calling his last two shows at Earls Court “the final two”. He has since changed his mind, but has decided to tour with a orchestra because he said he was not “excited by repeating former successes”.

He announced the tour in London this morning and said he felt “re-energised after my recent troubles” - a reference to his multiple drugs convictions, which culminated in a four week spell in prison for crashing into a shop in Hampstead, London, while under the influence of cannabis.

His 47-date tour will include the Royal Opera house and Royal Albert Hall in London. He will play the 02 in Dublin on November 1st.
