A strong earthquake measuring 6.5 struck central California today, swaying high rise buildings from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the tremor, whose epicenter was located 7 miles from San Simeon, California, the home of Hearst Castle, one of the major tourist attractions in the state, the US Geological Survey said.
CNN said the castle was evacuated though it was unclear whether that was because of damage or as precaution.
