Three out of four readers of the Irish Catholic who responded to a survey said bishops and priests were not doing enough to communicate church teachings to the laity. Almost half thought the church had changed too much in recent times. Some 85 per cent of the respondents (1,912 readers) said the recent church scandals had not undermined their trust in the clergy.
