Labour is continuing to maintain a big opinion poll lead over the Conservatives in the British election, according to two new surveys.

A Gallup poll for the
Daily Telegraph
gave Labour a 16-point advantage over the Tories, unchanged from a week ago, although both parties saw their support slip slightly.
It showed Labour down point one on 47 per cent, the Conservatives also down one on 31 per cent and the Liberal Democrats up one to 16 per cent.
A Mori poll for The Timesgave Labour a slightly bigger lead of 18 points, with Labour on 48 per cent, the Conservatives on 30 per cent and the Liberal Democrats on 16 per cent.
Previous Mori polls have shown a much greater lead for Labour, putting the party 25 points ahead just a week ago.
The Gallup poll also revealed 46 per cent of people believed Britain should probably join the euro at some point but not yet.
Eleven per cent said Britain should definitely join the euro as soon as possible while 20 per cent believed joining the euro was not a good idea and Britain should not join for many years to come.
Another 20 per cent said Britain should never join the single currency. But nearly two thirds - 64 per cent - said they would vote No in a referendum on the euro during the next few months.
This figure dropped to 52 per cent if the referendum was held in two or three years and the government said it was in Britain's interests.
