A man who downloaded videos of children as young as 10 being subjected to oral and full sex has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Colin Tully (24), Woodview, Lucan, Co Dublin, had computer files including 44 videos and 15 images depicting young children in sexually explicit poses.
Det Garda Martin Hogan said Tully had progressed from viewing child pornography out of curiosity to downloading images so they could be actively viewed at any time.
Tully pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possessing child pornography at his home in August 2010.

Judge Martin Nolan said Tully was a good and intelligent young man who had lost his way and imposed a suspended sentence of two years’ imprisonment.
