Taipei - A new Taiwanese air force F-16 jet fighter disappeared yesterday over the Taiwan strait in the latest blow to the country's aviation sector, already reeling from a series of crashes.
The jet vanished on a training flight near the islet of Penghu midway between Taiwan and mainland China, and was presumed to have crashed. Air and sea rescue teams were searching for the aircraft and its two pilots.
