The second round of talks involving the North's First Minister, Mr David Trimble, and local politicians from the Portadown area in efforts to find a solution to the Drumcree impasse will take place today at Pineband House outside Lurgan, a predominantly nationalist part of the area.

The move follows angry scenes at last Tuesday's talks, when participants were heckled by loyalist protesters outside Craigavon Civic Centre. The car of SDLP Assembly member Ms Brid Rodgers was pelted with eggs as she left the Civic Centre.
