COLOMBO - Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels today killed at least 100 government soldiers in a massive counterattack near the northern rebel stronghold of Kilinochchi, military officials said.
In a pre dawn attack on advancing government troops, fighters from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam movement hit the rear of an army column with mortars.
