Taxi driver stabbed in Belfast robbery

The PSNI is investigating an armed robbery in Belfast in which a taxi driver sustained stab injuries.

The taxi driver was stabbed in the stomach after confronting a man who took money from him. 

The driver taken to hospital where his injuries were not believed to be life threatening following the incident at around 6.15am.

Police said the victim was in his car at Sandown Park South, east Belfast when he was approached and money taken.

He was attacked after he chased his assailant.

Detectives said the man made off with three other people in the direction of Cherryvalley.
