The Ryder Cup will be held for the first time in Ireland during September 22nd to 24th, 2006.
The venue is the K Club, Straffan, Co Kildare.
The Ryder Cup is expected to be worth up to €€130 million to the Irish economy.
It will be seen in 150 countries worldwide, with over one billion viewers.

It is the third-largest event covered by TV after the Olympic Games and the World Cup.
Some 40,000 people will attend the K Club for each day of the event and the two practice days.
A lottery for tickets to the general public closed on July 18th of this year.
Tickets can now only be purchased as part of a travel package.
