Gardai yesterday arrested and are questioning a third man in relation to the largest seizure of ecstasy tablets ever in the midwest region.
About 100,000 ecstasy tablets were in plastic bags, recovered from a farmyard barn outside Limerick city on
Tuesday. Garda sources said they were hidden there by the gang formerly headed by Eddie Ryan, who was shot dead in a pub in a gangland feud last November.
The third man, who is in his 40s, is being held in Mayorstone Garda station. The other two are still being held in Henry Street Garda station. All three were associates of Eddie Ryan.
