Three men in their twenties were arrested todayas part of the investigation into the death of a Cork man who was shot in front of his girlfriend earlier this month.

John Butler, (20), a father of one, of Knocknaheeny Avenue, Cork, was shot dead by a lone gunman in Gurranabraher on the north side of Cork city.

Today's arrests were made under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Two men are detained at Gurranbraher and one at Mayfield Garda stations.
