Three men have been arrested after gardaí found a handgun in a car in Co Wicklow.
The gun was recovered during the search of a car at a routine Garda checkpoint at Coolbeg, Ashford, at about 11pm last night, a Garda spokesman said.
The three men - aged 34, 28 and 24 - are being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939 at Wicklow Garda station.
Investigations are continuing, the spokesman said.
