Three hurt in separate crashes

Two men have been seriously injured in a car crash in Co Limerick early this morning.

Two men have been seriously injured in a car crash in Co Limerick early this morning.

The two-car collision happened at Knockane Cross, Garrydoolis, Pallasgreen between 1.00am and 1.30am.

The driver of one of the cars, who is in his early 50s, was taken removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick. He was later transferred to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

His passenger, who is in his 30s, was also seriously hurt and is being treated in hospital in Limerick.

The driver of the second car was unhurt in the crash.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man was seriously injured when the car he was driving hit a tree at Greenan, Drumconrath,
Navan, Co Meath last night. There were no other cars involved in the incident, which took place at about 11.30pm.

Gardaí have asked anyone with information about either incident to contact them.
