The bodies of three people were discovered this evening following a house fire in Kerry.
A 26-year-old mother, her four-year-old son, and a 32-year-old man were found dead in the house earlier this evening about nine miles from Tralee.
A garda spokesman said that the alarm was raised after relatives became concerned for their welfare. He added that the fire extensively damaged the two-storey house near Ardfert, some time between Saturday evening and this morning.
Foul play is not suspected.
The house was extensively damaged internally in the blaze and a full investigation is underway to establish the cause. The state pathologist has been called to the scene and gardai have said names of the dead will not be released until the next of kin have been informed.
