Three new Lotto millionaires have been created following Saturday's €7 million jackpot draw.

The winning tickets were sold in Kildare, Cork and Roscommon but none of the shops knew the identity of the winners last night. Each ticket is worth €2,340,969 to the owner.

The first winning ticket was sold on Friday in Power's newsagents in Cobh, Co Cork. The shop has already sold two tickets, which won over €1 million.

The other winning tickets were sold on Saturday, one in the Londis store in Roscommon town and one in John O'Donovan's shop in the Greenfield's Shopping Centre in Maynooth, Co Kildare.

The three shops have a good reason to celebrate - they split a seller's prize of €7,500.

Ms Anne Timothy of Londis in Roscommon said neither she nor her husband, Vincent, had heard a "dicky-bird" about the winner's identity. The shop sold two Winning Streak winning tickets since it started business two years ago.

O'Donovan's in Maynooth has also been a lucky outlet for Lotto enthusiasts. The shop has sent six people to the Winning Streak show in recent years.

All three shops said they were very busy at the time the winning tickets were sold. They also speculated that the excitement over the World Cup might cause people to forget to check their tickets.

The jackpot of €7,022,906 was the fourth largest since the Lotto draws started. The largest jackpot was in November 1996, when two winners shared a €9.5 million prize. The largest single prize of €7.8 million was won in 1997 by a Cork farmer.

The earliest the winners can call to claim their prizes is Tuesday morning. They forfeit their winnings if they do not collect them within 90 days.
